Chers utilisateurs du Datamart du SMC,

Dans le but des respecter des standards d'encodage du format GRIB2 pour les régions de la couverture spatiale où il y a absence de données, un correctif sera appliqué dès le 4 octobre 2016 dans les données du domaine continental du SHRPD, localisées sur le Datamart du SMC à l'adresse :

http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_hrdps/continental/grib2/

Actuellement, les zones d'absence de données pour chaque fichier sont représentées par les valeurs maximales des champs plus 25% de la différence max-min des champs.

Conformément à la spécification GRIB2, un masque sera appliqué pour identifier la région en question (voir image ci-jointe). Les décodeurs ignoreront alors ces points de grille et la région concernée ne contiendra aucune donnée.

Notez que ce masque sera aussi appliqué aux fenêtres Arctique et Lancaster disponibles jusqu’en novembre 2016, période de mise en service de la grille Nord sur le Datamart du SMC (date exacte à venir).

Nous sommes désolés des inconvénients que cela pourrait engendrer dans vos applications et nous nous tenons disponibles pour toute question relative à la mise en place de ce correctif.

Dear MSC Datamart users,

In order to follow the GRIB2 encoding standards for regions with no data, a bugfix will be applied as of October, 4^th 2016 to the Continental HRDPS data, located on the MSC Datamart here :

http://dd.weather.gc.ca/model_hrdps/continental/grib2/

Currently, the no data regions for each file are represented by the maximum value of the fields plus 25% of the difference max-min of the fields.

In accordance with the GRIB2 standards, a mask will be applied to identify them (see image enclosed). The decoding tools will ignore these grid points and the affected region will contain no data.

Please, note that this mask will be also applied to the Arctic and Lancaster domains available until November 2016, when the North grid will be implemented on the MSC Datamart (exact date to follow).
