Chers usagers des données ouvertes du SMC,
Tel qu’annoncé en juin 2025,
la version expérimentale du Système global de prévision déterministe (SGPD) piloté spectralement par un
modèle basé sur l’intelligence artificielle devrait devenir opérationnelle en avril 2026 (date à confirmer). Cette nouvelle version, entrainant un gain de prévisibilité d’environ une demi-journée au jour 7,
va donc remplacer la
version opérationnelle actuelle du SGPD et devenir la source des produits dérivés disponibles dans notre offre de données ouvertes, soit le post-traitement statistique, les éléments du temps sur grille et l’analyse de glace globale.
Par conséquent, à partir du printemps prochain,
les données du SGPD seront uniquement disponibles à cette adresse :
https://dd.meteo.gc.ca/today/model_gdps/15km/
Le répertoire ci-dessous sera donc retiré du Datamart du SMC :
https://dd.meteo.gc.ca/today/model_gem_global/15km/
Par conséquent,
les
données PROGNOS post-traitées statistiquement et les matrices SCRIBE seront déménagées vers le répertoire :
https://dd.meteo.gc.ca/today/model_gdps/15km/
Les données de
l’analyse globale de glace seront-elles aussi hébergées dès le printemps prochain dans le répertoire ci-dessus. On en profitera pour
standardiser la nomenclature des fichiers selon nos nouvelles normes. Ainsi, les fichiers
seront disponibles aux adresses et selon la nomenclature:

Dear MSC open data users,
As announced in June 2025,
the
experimental version of the Global Deterministic Prediction System (GDPS), spectrally nudged by an
artificial intelligence-based model, is expected to become operational in April 2026 (date to be confirmed). This new version, which will improve predictability by about half a day on day 7,
will therefore replace the
current version of the operational GDPS and become the source of the derivative products available in our open data offering, namely statistical post-processing, grid weather elements, and global ice analysis.
As a result, starting next spring,
GDPS data will only be available at this address:
https://dd.weather.gc.ca/today/model_gdps/15km/
The directory below will therefore be removed from the MSC Datamart:
https://dd.weather.gc.ca/today/model_gem_global/15km/
Consequently, statistically post-processed PROGNOS data and SCRIBE matrices will be moved to the
directory:
https://dd.weather.gc.ca/today/model_gdps/15km/
The
global ice analysis data will also be hosted in the above directory starting next spring. We will take this opportunity to
standardize the file nomenclature according to our new standards. Thus, the files:
