Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC,
A partir du 25 septembre 2018, les données SPENA
(Système de prévision d’ensemble nord-américain) à 1 degré de
résolution seront retirées du Datamart du SMC, actuellement
disponibles à l'adresse:
http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/ensemble/naefs/grib2/raw/
Des données à plus haute résolution (0.5 degré) sont déjà
disponibles depuis le 10 mars 2017 à cette même adresse.
Par ailleurs, et dans le but d'écarter une confusion de longue
date, les données SPENA seront renommées SGPE (Système
global de prévision d'ensemble).
En effet, ce que l'on appelle actuellement "SPENA" sur le Datamart
du SMC ne sont pas les données SPENA, ce sont les données du SGPE
(21 membres). Elles ont été appelées SPENA initialement car ce
sont les mêmes données canadiennes utilisées dans le cadre
de l'échange SPENA avec NCEP. Les données SPENA comportent 42
membres, 21 du SGPE et 21 du GEFS de NCEP.

Puisque nous n'offrons pas les données GRIB du GEFS de NCEP sur
notre serveur, mais seulement les données du SGPE (d'où la
confusion), les usagers intéressés à obtenir les données
américaines dans le cadre de SPENA peuvent se rendre sur le site
de NCEP à l'adresse: http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/
Dans ce contexte, les changements suivants seront opérés:

La documentation sera également mise à jour à cette adresse:

Notez que ce changement n'affectera pas les données XML qui
représentent, quant à elles, effectivement les valeurs des 42
membres SPENA aux stations des EPSgrammes SPENA.
Un autre avis sera envoyé si la date de mise en œuvre de ces
changements venait à changer.
Nous espérons que cette mise à jour n'entrainera pas trop de

Dear MSC Datamart users,
Starting from September, 25th 2018, the 1 degree NAEFS
data (North American Ensemble Forecast System) will
be removed from the MSC Datamart, currently available at the
address:
http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/ensemble/naefs/grib2/raw/
Higher resolution 0.5 degree data have been already available
since March 17th, 2017 at the same address.
On the other hand, in order to eliminate a long-standing
confusion, the NAEFS data will be renamed GEPS (Global
Ensemble Prediction System).
Indeed, what we currently call "NAEFS" on the MSC Datamart are not
the NAEFS data, but rather the GEPS data (21 members). The data
were originally called NAEFS because it is the same Canadian
data used in the NAEFS data exchange with NCEP. The NAEFS data
contain 42 members, 21 from the GEPS and 21 from NCEP (GEFS).

Since we do not provide the NCEP GEFS GRIB data on our server, but
only the GEPS data (hence the confusion), users who are interested
in the American data from the NAEFS data exchange can access the
NCEP web site at the address: http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/
In this context, the following changes will be implemented:

, which will be also renamed: http://meteo.gc.ca/grib/grib2_ens_geps_e.html
Please, note that the above changes will not affect the XML data
which contain effectively the 42 NAEFS members at the NAEFS
EPSgramme stations.
Another notification will be sent if the implementation date
changes.
