Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC,
Dans le cadre de la contribution de Environnement et changement
climatique Canada au Projet de prévision polaire (PPP)
international dont l'Année de prévision polaire est une des
initiatives phares (YOPP: http://www.polarprediction.net/yopp-activities/),
un nouveau système appelé Système canadien de prévision de
l'Arctique (SCPA) a été implanté en mode expérimental le
mercredi 24 janvier 2018 sur un large domaine arctique (voir image
en attaché).

Les données de ce nouveau système qui sont produites sur le
domaine Arctique en entier et à une résolution de 3km pour les
besoins des chercheurs scientifiques internationaux participants
au projet YOPP, sont dès à présent disponibles aux usagers via le
serveur d'essai du Datamart du SMC à l'adresse:

Notez que les données en format GRIB2 demeureront en ligne durant
toute la durée du projet YOPP, soit jusqu'à mi-2019 ce qui offre
une base de données exceptionnelle pour les usagers intéressés aux
régions polaires arctiques.
Nous tenons à rappeler que ce système est expérimental et
que des modifications peuvent y être apportées avec un très court
préavis . De plus, la disponibilité de ces données ne peut être
garantie au même niveau que celles disponibles sur le Datamart
opérationnel du SMC.
Finalement, plusieurs mises à jours seront apportées au système
tout au long du projet et vous seront communiquées via cette liste
de diffusion.

Dears MSC Datamart users,
In support of Environment and Climate Change Canada’s contribution
to the international Polar Prediction Project (PPP) for which the
Year of Polar Prediction is one of the flagship initiatives (YOPP:
http://www.polarprediction.net/yopp-activities/),
a new system called Canadian Arctic Prediction System (CAPS) has
been implemented in experimental mode on January 24th 2018, over a
large Arctic domain (see attached picture).

The data of this new system, produced over the entire Arctic
domain at 3 km resolution for the scientific research goals of
YOPP, are also available as of now to users on the MSC Datamart
testing data repository at the address:

Please note that the data in GRIB2 format will be available on
line during the entire period of the YOPP project, namely until
mid-2019 which offers an exceptional data base for users
interested in Arctic polar regions.
We would like to remind that this system is experimental,
such that modifications may occur with relatively short notices,
and that product availability can not be guaranteed at the same
level as for an official operational system.
Finally, several updates will be implemented throughout the
project and will be announced through this mailing list.
