Call for Presentations
We are now accepting proposals for presentations for the 4th International Smoke Symposium (ISS4). ISS4 aims to address a variety of wildland smoke related issues, through topics that
relate to methods for tracking, modeling and inventory, social implications, health implications for the public and firefighter communities, communication, current and future research needs, and practical field management and response techniques for smoke.

Call for Special Sessions
Special Sessions are designed to foster engagement and depth and will be one hour in length. Formats may include a series of short presentations on a focused topic followed by discussion
and Q&A, or an interactive deep dive into a specific issue. These sessions are not intended for single lectures—they must encourage dialogue, collaboration, and multiple perspectives. Special sessions should be fully developed before the submission deadline
- including abstracts from each presenter included in the session.

Venue
ISS4 will be held at the newly built Leigh Perkins Conservation Education Center, located on the main campus of Tall Timbers Research Station in the Red Hills region between Thomasville,
Georgia, and Tallahassee, Florida.
This new facility is named in honor of Leigh Perkins, former Tall Timbers Board member and the man responsible for growing Orvis from a niche sporting company into one of the world’s
most respected outdoor brands. When Leigh passed in 2021, the Perkins Family quickly embraced the vision for a state-of-the-art conservation education facility at Tall Timbers as an excellent fit for Leigh’s conservation ethic and drive to help connect people
with the outdoors.

Call for Workshops
The purpose of the workshops is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in wildland fire, smoke management, public health, and air quality management to discuss and exchange
interests on defined topics. We view these workshops as an opportunity for technology transfer.
