ISS4 aims to address a variety of wildland smoke related issues, through topics that relate to methods for tracking, modeling and inventory, social implications, health implications for the public and firefighter communities, communication, current and future research needs, and practical field management and response techniques for smoke. Venue ISS4 will be held at the newly built Leigh Perkins Conservation Education Center, located on the main campus of Tall Timbers Research Station in the Red Hills region between Thomasville, Georgia, and Tallahassee, Florida. This new facility is named in honor of Leigh Perkins, former Tall Timbers Board member and the man responsible for growing Orvis from a niche sporting company into one of the world’s most respected outdoor brands.
