SWOB format now stable / Format SWOB maintenant stable

Dear SWOB users,
Since September 27th 2012, Environment Canada has been distributing on
the Datamart a new surface weather observation XML product, named
SWOB-ML. The announcement, with all the relevant links and information,
can be found here:

A period of requests for comments took place from September through
December 2012. We received several comments, especially in December. As
a result, a number of modifications and fixes were made. Based on
feedback and comments, Environment Canada has finalised the format of
SWOB and it should be considered stable. You will find in attachment the
updated specifications of the SWOB format. This documentation will be
updated next April on the Datamart as well.
From now on, the current release of the format will only see minor
changes, and those changes will be limited to maintenance and fixes. In
the future, ongoing feedback may result in additional elements and
enhancements being added. Such additions would be highlighted and
communicated via release notes on this mailing list.
As per the announcement, the Datamart will cease distribution of
observations in SA format on June 19th, 2013. Please note that the SACN
bulletins containing observations in METAR format will continue
uninterrupted.

Depuis le 27 septembre 2012, Environnement Canada rend disponible sur le
Datamart un nouveau produit pour les observations de surface nommé
SWOB-ML. L'annonce de ce produit, avec toutes les informations et les

Une période de demande de commentaires a eu lieu de septembre à décembre
2012. Nous avons reçu plusieurs commentaires, surtout en décembre, et
nous avons apporté un certain nombre de modifications et corrections.
Environment Canada a par la suite finalisé le format SWOB et cette
version peut désormais être considérée comme stable. Vous trouverez en
pièce jointe les spécifications mises à jour pour le format SWOB. Cette
documentation sera également mise à jour sur le Datamart en avril prochain.
La présente version de ce format n'aura par la suite que des changements
mineurs limités à des corrections ou de la maintenance. Par la suite,
des éléments supplémentaires ou des améliorations pourraient être
apportés au format après réception de commentaires ou de rétroactions.
Ces ajouts seront inclus dans les notes de changement de version et vous
seront communiquées sur cette liste de diffusion.
Tel que mentionné dans l'annonce, les observations en format SA
cesseront d'être distribuées sur le Datamart, plus précisément le 19
juin 2013. Notez que les bulletins SACN contenant les observations en
format METAR continueront d'être distribués.
