(English follows) Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC, Ceci est une mise à jour de l'annonce envoyée le 15 septembre dernier concernant la mise en place d'un masque dans les données GRIB du SHRPD (domaines Continental, Arctique et Lancaster): http://lists.ec.gc.ca/pipermail/dd_info/2016-September/000188.html Nous aimerions vous informer que ce changement est repoussé au 18 octobre 2016. Je profite de l'occasion pour vous informer que le domaine Nord, qui remplacera les domaines Arctique et Lancaster, sera mis en œuvre le 30 novembre 2016. Un autre avis sera envoyé si la date devait changer d'ici là. I take this opportunity to inform you that the North domain, which will replace the Arctic and Lancaster domains, will be available on the MSC Datamart from November 30th, 2016. Mise à jour des données GRIB du SHRPD / Update of the HRDPS GRIB data

(English follows) Chers utilisateurs du Datamart du SMC, Dans le but des respecter des standards d'encodage du format GRIB2 pour les régions de la couverture spatiale où il y a absence de données, un correctif sera appliqué dès le 4 octobre 2016 dans les données du domaine continental du SHRPD, localisées sur le Datamart du SMC à l'adresse : http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_hrdps/continental/grib2/ Actuellement, les zones d'absence de données pour chaque fichier sont représentées par les valeurs maximales des champs plus 25% de la différence max-min des champs. Conformément à la spécification GRIB2, un masque sera appliqué pour identifier la région en question (voir image ci-jointe). Les décodeurs ignoreront alors ces points de grille et la région concernée ne contiendra aucune donnée. Notez que ce masque sera aussi appliqué aux fenêtres Arctique et Lancaster disponibles jusqu'en novembre 2016, période de mise en service de la grille Nord sur le Datamart du SMC (date exacte à venir). Nous sommes désolés des inconvénients que cela pourrait engendrer dans vos applications et nous nous tenons disponibles pour toute question relative à la mise en place de ce correctif. Suite 230 Dorval, Québec CANADA H9P 1J3 ======================================================= Dear MSC Datamart users, In order to follow the GRIB2 encoding standards for regions with no data, a bugfix will be applied as of October, 4th 2016 to the Continental HRDPS data, located on the MSC Datamart here : http://dd.weather.gc.ca/model_hrdps/continental/grib2/ Currently, the no data regions for each file are represented by the maximum value of the fields plus 25% of the difference max-min of the fields. In accordance with the GRIB2 standards, a mask will be applied to identify them (see image enclosed). The decoding tools will ignore these grid points and the affected region will contain no data. Please, note that this mask will be also applied to the Arctic and Lancaster domains available until November 2016, when the North grid will be implemented on the MSC Datamart (exact date to follow). We apologize for any inconvenience this update may cause to your applications and we remain available for any question regarding this bugfix implementation. Mise à jour des données du SRPE / Update of the REPS data

(English follows) Chers utilisateurs du Datamart du SMC, Ceci est pour vous informer qu'une mise à jour des données du SRPE, disponibles à l'adresse ci-dessous, sera mise en œuvre le 7 septembre 2016. http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/ensemble/reps/15km/grib2/raw Tout d'abord, une correction dans l’encodage de la variable « Flux descendant de radiation d'ondes courtes à la surface » sera apportée afin de mieux refléter la nature de celle-ci. Cette variable se retrouvera dans les fichiers dont le nom contiendra la chaîne de caractères « DSWRF_SFC_0». Actuellement, cette variable se trouve dans les fichiers « NSWRT_NTAT_0 » qui n’existeront plus. Par ailleurs, de nouveaux champs seront disponibles. Il s'agit des accumulations de 6 heures des types de précipitations: • CMC-reps-srpe-prob_IPRATE-Accum-6h*all-products.grib2 • CMC-reps-srpe-prob_FPRATE-Accum-6h*all-products.grib2 • CMC-reps-srpe-prob_RPRATE-Accum-6h*all-products.grib2 • CMC-reps-srpe-prob_SPRATE-Accum-6h*all-products.grib2 Enfin, un nouveau seuil de 0,2mm sera ajouté dans tous les produits de probabilité de précipitations. This field will be available in the files with names containing the string " DSWRF_SFC_0". Currently, this variable can be found in the files " NSWRT_NTAT_0 " which will no longer exist. On the other hand, new fields will be available. These are precipitation types accumulated over a 6h period: • CMC-reps-srpe-prob_IPRATE-Accum-6h*all-products.grib2 • CMC-reps-srpe-prob_FPRATE-Accum-6h*all-products.grib2 • CMC-reps-srpe-prob_RPRATE-Accum-6h*all-products.grib2 • CMC-reps-srpe-prob_SPRATE-Accum-6h*all-products.grib2 Finally, a new 0.2mm threshold will be added to all the probability of precipitation products.
