Des mises à jour des produits CAP-XML ont été mises en œuvre le *7 mars
*et le*19 avril* *2017*, d'autres suivront le *15 mai* *2017 *et le*14
juin 2017* /(dates provisoires)/.
Ces mises à jour consistent essentiellement en des corrections suite à
des problèmes rapportés par les usagers de ces produits, depuis leur
lancement le 7 juillet 2016.

Migration vers une nouvelle infrastructure de super-informatique / Migration towards a new high-performance computing infrastructure

Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC,
Dans le but d'améliorer continuellement nos services en matière de
prévisions météorologiques et environnementales, Environnement et
changement climatique Canada, en collaboration avec Services Partagés
Canada, migrera vers une nouvelle infrastructure de super-informatique
le *mardi 15 août 2017*, à partir des passes de modèles de 12 UTC.
En terme de capacité de calcul haute performance, nous atteindrons
l’échelle du pétaflop (un million gigaflop), nous rendant comparables à
d’autres grands centres météorologiques dans le monde.
Bien que nous n’anticipions pas de problème technique majeur, nous
invitons nos usagers à nous signaler tout enjeu potentiel suite à cette
migration, via l'adresse ec.dps-client.ec(a)canada.ca. Un grand merci pour
votre habituelle collaboration bien appréciée.

prediction services, Environment and Climate Change Canada, in

high-performance computing infrastructure as of *Tuesday, August 15**^th

scale (1 million gigaflops), which will put us on par with other

Il me fait plaisir de vous annoncer qu'*en date du 14 décembre 2017* et
suite à plusieurs années d’exécution en mode expérimental, *le Centre
météorologique canadien (CMC) du Service météorologique du Canada
déclare opérationnel le Système haute résolution de prévision
déterministe, SHRPD*.
Les données de ce système sont disponibles sur le Datamart du SMC à

after several years running in experimental mode, *the Canadian
Meteorological Centre (CMC) of the **Meteorological Service of Canada
declared operational the High Resolution Deterministic Prediction
System, HRDPS*.

aura lieu en janvier 2018 (date exacte à venir). Ceci sera transparent
pour les usagers excepté le format de date dans le listing de fichiers
qui va changer pour le format international YYYY-MM-DD. Le format de
date des fichiers disponibles sur le Datamart ne sera pas modifié.

Mise à jour: Problème dans les fichiers CAP-XML / Update : Issue in the CAP-XML files

Ceci est une mise à jour de l'annonce envoyée le 10 novembre dernier
concernant un problème dans les fichiers CAP-XML affectant le paramètre
</responseType/>, dans les situations où la zone géographique assujettie
à un avertissement est réduite.

La cause du problème a été identifiée et des tests sur différents
scénarios météorologiques sont encore en cours afin de s'assurer de la
validité du correctif.
L'implémentation opérationnelle**est prévue pour le *5 décembre 2017*.
Nous sommes conscients des désagréments que ce problème peut entrainer
dans vos applications et mettons tout en oeuvre pour le régler au plus vite.

2017, regarding an issue with the element </responseType/> , under
situations where the area covered by a warning has been reduced in size.

through various weather scenarios to ensure the fix will resolve the issue.

Changements dans les prévisions de vagues / Wave forecasts changes

Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC,
Une mise à jour importante des données de prévisions de vagues sur le
Datamart du SMC aura lieu au début de l'année 2018. Un nouveau *système
global de prévision des vagues (SGPDV) sera* *mis en oeuvre
opérationnellement* (pour les détails, voir le GENOT:
http://dd.weather.gc.ca/doc/genots/2017/10/31/NOCN03_CWAO_311455___01870)
et une *nouvelle version du système régional de prévision des vagues
(SRPDV)* pour les Grands Lacs sera également publiée.
Ceci entrainera une amélioration de la qualité des prévisions mais aussi
l'*arrêt des systèmes de vagues océaniques régionaux actuels*, à
l'exception du domaine du Golfe du Saint-Laurent. Les domaines Arctique,
Atlantique nord et Pacifique nord, actuellement disponibles aux adresses
ci-dessous, seront donc retirés:

* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/ocean/pacific_north/
Par conséquent, veuillez noter les changements suivants directement
reliés à cette mise à jour:
1) Un *nouveau domaine global *sera disponible à une résolution de
0.25deg, à l'adresse:
http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/ocean/global/grib2/
- Ce domaine sera disponible pour les passes de 00Z et 12Z et l'échéance
des prévisions sera de 120h. Les sorties seront disponibles aux heures
de 0 à 48 heures puis aux 3 heures.
- Les fichiers auront pour nomenclature:
CMC_*gdwps*_domain_Variable_LevelType_level_latlondddxddd_YYYYMMDDHH_Phhh.grib2

2) Quatre *nouveaux domaines régionaux seront disponibles* à une
résolution de 1 km (0.009 x 0.0124 degrés), aux adresses suivantes:

* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/great_lakes/huron-michigan/grib2/
* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/great_lakes/ontario/grib2/
* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/great_lakes/superior/grib2/
- Les prévisions sur ces domaines seront disponibles aux heures pour les
passes de 00Z, 06Z, 12Z et 18Z. L'échéance sera de 48h pour tous les
domaines des Grands Lacs.
- Veuillez noter que le Lac Michigan sera ajouté au domaine régional
couvrant le Lac Huron, le nom du répertoire associé sera donc changé en
conséquence.
3) *Au niveau des variables*, il faut souligner les points suivants:
- Les paramètres SWELL (hauteur significative de la houle), SWDIR
(direction de la houle) et SWPER (période moyenne de la houle), ne
seront plus des paramètres de houle totale, mais représenteront plutôt
la première houle, c'est à dire la houle ayant le plus d'énergie.
- La variable PKPER verra son LevelType_level passer de TGL_0 à SFC_0.
- Un nouveau paramètre sera ajouté, soit la période moyenne centrée des
vagues (MZWPER)
- La variable PRMSL ne sera plus disponible parmi les données
puisqu'elle n'est pas utilisée par le modèle de vague. Notez que
celle-ci est disponible via le SGPD sous :
http://dd.weatheroffice.gc.ca/model_gem_global/25km/grib2/lat_lon/
4) Veuillez noter que ces changements n'ont *pas d'impact sur les
données du domaine du Golfe du Saint-Laurent* qui continueront de
provenir du SRPDV actuel.

Afin de faciliter cette transition, un échantillon de données est d'ores
et déjà disponible sur le site web d'essai du Datamart à l'adresse:

Un autre avis sera envoyé dès que la date précise de la mise en œuvre de
ces changements sera déterminée.
Nous espérons que cette mise à jour n'entrainera pas trop de "vagues"
dans vos applications. ;-)

A significant update to the CMC wave prediction system will take place
on the MSC Datamart, at the beginning of 2018. A new*Global
Deterministic Wave Prediction System (GDWPS) will be operationally

as well as a new version of the *Regional Deterministic Wave Prediction
System (RDWPS)* for the Great Lakes.
This update will lead to improved forecasts but also to the
*decommissioning of the current _oceanic_ regional wave systems,
*with**the exception of the Gulf of St Lawrence domain. Accordingly, the
Arctic, North Atlantic and North Pacific domains currently available at
the addresses below, will be removed from the MSC Datamart:

* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/ocean/atlantic_north/
* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/ocean/pacific_north/
Therefore, please note the following changes directly related to this
update:
1) A new 0.25deg resolution global domain will be available at the
following address:
http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/ocean/global/grib2/
- This dataset will be available at 00Z and 12Z with forecast period to
120h. The outputs will be available hourly from 00h to 48h, then every 3
hours.
- The files will have the following nomenclature:
CMC_*gdwps*_domain_Variable_LevelType_level_latlondddxddd_YYYYMMDDHH_Phhh.grib2

- Four new regional domains will be available at 1km resolution (0.009 x
0.0124 degrees), at the addresses:
* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/great_lakes/erie/grib2/
* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/great_lakes/huron-michigan/grib2/
* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/great_lakes/ontario/grib2/
* http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_wave/great_lakes/superior/grib2/
- The forecasts on these domains will be available hourly for the 00Z,
06Z, 12Z and 18Z runs, out to 48 hours.
- Please note that Lake Michigan will be added to the regional domain
covering Lake Huron and the associated directory will be changed
accordingly.
3) *Regarding the variables*, the following points must be underlined:
- The SWELL (Significant height of swell waves), SWDIR (Direction of
swell waves) and SWPER (Mean period of swell waves) parameters will no
longer represent total swell parameters but rather the primary swell,
that is, the swell having the most energy.
- The PKPER LevelType_level will change from TGL_0 to SFC_0
- A new parameter will be added, namely the mean centered wave period
(MZWPER)
- The PRMSL variable will no longer be available since it is not used by
the wave model. For your information, this variable is available in the
GDPS data, here:

4) Please note that these changes will *not affect the Gulf of St
Lawrence* *domain**data *which will remain driven by the current RDWPS.
