Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC,
Dans le cadre de la contribution de Environnement et changement
climatique Canada au projet international Year Of Polar Prediction
(YOPP: http://www.polarprediction.net/yopp-activities/) un nouveau
système appelé Canadian Arctic Prediction System (CAPS) sera implanté en
mode expérimental, à partir du 23 janvier 2018 sur un large domaine
arctique (voir figure en attaché).
Les données seront bientôt disponibles sur le serveur web d'essai du
Datamart pendant toute la période du projet YOPP (informations à venir).
Les *conséquences pour les usagers de la fenêtre nord du SHRPD*
(http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_hrdps/north/grib2/) sont les suivantes :
- Les données seront produites dès le 23 janvier 2018 à partir de ce
nouveau modèle. *Aucun changement dans les variables ni dans la grille
du domaine* sont à mentionner, seul le modèle utilisé pour produire les
données sera mis à jour avec une nouvelle microphysique (détails à venir
avec le GENOT).
- Par contre, *seules les passes 00Z et 12Z seront dorénavant
disponibles avec des prévisions horaires de 00h à 48h*. Les passes 06Z
et 18Z ne seront donc plus disponibles.
Un message de rappel sera envoyé mardi 23 janvier dans lequel un lien
vers le GENOT sera ajouté. La documentation sera également mis à jour
prochainement à l'adresse:

Nous sommes désolés des inconvénients que cette mise en oeuvre pourrait
engendrer dans vos applications et demeurons disponibles pour davantage
d'information.

Dear MSC Datamart users,
In support of Environment and Climate Change Canada’s contribution to
the international Year Of Polar Prediction (YOPP) project
(http://www.polarprediction.net/yopp-activities/) a new system called
Canadian Arctic Prediction System (CAPS) will be implemented in
experimental mode from January 23rd 2018, over a large Arctic domain
(see attached picture).
The data will be available shortly on the MSC Datamart testing data
repository during the entire period of the YOPP project (information to
come).
The *impacts for users of the HRDPS experimental North domain*
(http://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_hrdps/north/grib2/) are as follows:
- The data will be produced from this new system starting from January
23rd 2018. *No changes to the variables or the grid of the domain* will
take place, only the model used to produce the data will be updated with
a new microphysics scheme (details to come in the GENOT).
- However, *only the 00Z and 12Z runs will now be available with hourly
forecasts from 00h to 48h*. The 06Z and 18Z runs will no longer be
available.
Another message will be sent on January 23rd with a link to the GENOT.
