Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC,
Dès octobre 2023, une correction sera apportée à la nomenclature des fichiers des produits
probabilistes à 1 degré de résolution du Système de Prévision Interannuelle et Saisonnière
Canadien (SPISCan), disponibles à l’adresse :
https://dd.meteo.gc.ca/model_cansips/100km/forecast/
L’ajustement concernera la période de validité des prévisions correspondant au segment «
{Month} » des fichiers :
{YYYYMM}_MSC_CanSIPS_{Var}-{StatProcess}_{Level}_LatLon1.0_{Month}.grib2
Tel qu’indiqué dans notre
documentation<https://eccc-msc.github.io/open-data/msc-data/nwp_cansips/readme_cansips-datamart_fr/>,
ce segment représente le(s) mois concerné(s) à partir du début de la prévision, soit 1
mois (ex : P07M pour décembre si le début de la prévision est le mois de mai) ou plusieurs
mois à partir du début de la prévision (ex : P01M-P03M pour juin à août si le début de la
prévision est le mois de mai).
Par conséquent, pour les périodes de validité de 3 mois, à partir du mois courant, les
fichiers du style :
202310_MSC_CanSIPS_AirTemp-ProbAboveNormal_AGL-2m_LatLon1.0_P01M-P04M.grib2
Seront renommés selon:
202310_MSC_CanSIPS_AirTemp-ProbAboveNormal_AGL-2m_LatLon1.0_P01M-P03M.grib2
Et pour les périodes de validité de 1 mois, à partir du mois courant, les fichiers du
style :
202310_MSC_CanSIPS_AirTemp-ProbAboveNormal_AGL-2m_LatLon1.0_P08M.grib2
Seront renommés selon:
202310_MSC_CanSIPS_AirTemp-ProbAboveNormal_AGL-2m_LatLon1.0_P07M.grib2
En d’autres mots, l’extrémité droite de l’intervalle de 3 mois sera retranchée de 1 pas de
temps. Même chose pour les fichiers avec 1 seul mois de validité (1 pas de temps
retranché).
Cet ajustement nous permet de suivre nos normes de standardisation mises en place pour se
rapprocher le plus possible des normes ISO8601.
Nous sommes désolés du court préavis et des impacts que ce changement pourrait avoir dans
vos applications.

Seasonal to Inter-annual Prediction System (CanSIPS) 1-degree probability product files,
available at :

The adjustment will concern the forecast validity period corresponding to the
"{Month}" segment of the files:
{YYYYMM}_MSC_CanSIPS_{Var}-{StatProcess}_{Level}_LatLon1.0_{Month}.grib2
As described in our
documentation<https://eccc-msc.github.io/open-data/msc-data/nwp_cansips/readme_cansips-datamart_en/>
, this segment represents the month(s) concerned from the beginning of the forecast,
either 1 month (e.g. P07M for December if the beginning of the forecast is May) or several
months from the beginning of the forecast (e.g. P01M-P03M for June to August if the
beginning of the forecast is May).
Consequently, for 3-month validity periods, starting with the current month, files like
:
202310_MSC_CanSIPS_AirTemp-ProbAboveNormal_AGL-2m_LatLon1.0_P01M-P04M.grib2
Will be renamed according to:
202310_MSC_CanSIPS_AirTemp-ProbAboveNormal_AGL-2m_LatLon1.0_P01M-P03M.grib2
And for validity periods of 1 month, starting with the current month, files of the style
:
202310_MSC_CanSIPS_AirTemp-ProbAboveNormal_AGL-2m_LatLon1.0_P08M.grib2
Will be renamed according to:
202310_MSC_CanSIPS_AirTemp-ProbAboveNormal_AGL-2m_LatLon1.0_P07M.grib2
In other words, the right-hand end of the 3-month interval will be subtracted by 1 time
step. The same applies to files with only 1 month of validity (1 time step subtracted).
This adjustment is in line with our standardization standards, which are designed to be as
close as possible to ISO8601.
