(English follows) Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC, Il me fait plaisir de vous annoncer l'ajout de nouvelles données statistiquement post-traitées pour le Système à haute résolution de prévision déterministe (SHRPD) sur le Datamart du SMC. Ces données sont générées par le système PROGNOS, un progiciel développé par ECCC, et bénéficient d'une réduction des biais systématiques et de la variance de l'erreur des prévisions brutes, dont le but est d'offrir des prévisions horaires de meilleure qualité. Ce nouveau système traite un grand nombre de stations canadiennes et supporte plusieurs réseaux d'observation, il facilite l'adaptation aux innovations fréquentes des systèmes de prévision numérique du temps ainsi que l'intégration de nouveaux algorithmes d'intelligence artificielle. Pour le moment, seule la température de l'air à 1.5 mètres au-dessus de la surface de la Terre est post-traitée statistiquement. Cordialement, Sandrine ================================ Dear MSC Datamart users, I am pleased to announce the addition of new statistically post-processed data for the High Resolution Deterministic Prediction System (HRDPS) on the MSC Datamart. These data are generated by the PROGNOS system, a software package developed by ECCC, and benefit from a reduction in systematic bias and in error variance of the raw forecast, thus providing better quality hourly forecasts. This new system processes many Canadian stations and supports several observation networks. It facilitates adaptation to frequent innovations in numerical weather prediction systems and allows for the integration of new artificial intelligence algorithms. Currently, only the air temperature at 1.5 meters above the Earth's surface is statistically post-processed.
