Chers usagers du Datamart du SMC,
J'aimerais vous informer d'une mise à jour du Système canadien de
prévision de l'Arctique (SCPA), implanté en mode expérimental le
mercredi 24 janvier 2018 sur un large domaine arctique pour les besoins
des chercheurs scientifiques internationaux participants au projet YOPP
(http://www.polarprediction.net/yopp-activities/).
Ce système est maintenant couplé au modèle océan-glace NEMO-CICE du
système de prévision océan-glace SRPOG
(http://dd.alpha.meteo.gc.ca/yopp/model_riops/doc/README_RIOPS.txt ) ,
lui-même installé en mode expérimental en juin 2016 et dont les données
sont disponibles sur le serveur d'essai du Datamart du SMC, DD-Alpha.
Le couplage bidirectionnel réside dans l'échange des flux
air-océan/glace servant à produire les prévisions de 2 jours du SRPOG,
tous les autres champs de surface initiaux proviennent de la
configuration globale du système d'assimilation de surface CaLDAS. Les
prévisions du SRPOG sont donc à présent générées directement dans le SCPA.

Dear MSC Datamart users,
I would like to inform you about an update to the Canadian Arctic
Prediction System (CAPS), implemented in experimental mode on Wednesday,
January 24, 2018, over a broad Arctic domain for the needs of
international scientific researchers participating in the YOPP project
(http://www.polarprediction.net/yopp-activities/).
This system is now coupled to the ocean-ice model NEMO-CICE of the
ocean-ice forecasting system RIOPS
(http://dd.alpha.meteo.gc.ca/yopp/model_riops/doc/README_RIOPS.txt),
itself installed in experimental mode in June 2016 and whose data are
available on the MSC Datamart test server, DD-Alpha.
The two-way coupling lies in the exchange of air-ocean/ice fluxes used
to produce the 2-day RIOPS forecasts. All other initial surface fields
come from the overall configuration of the CaLDAS surface assimilation
system. As a result, RIOPS forecasts are now generated directly from the
CAPS system.
