(English follows),
Cordialement,
Sandrine

==============================
Dear MSC open data users,
A major update to the citypage_weather (*) data production system is scheduled for
Wednesday, March 29. This update was supposed to be transparent for users, unfortunately,
several errors have crept into the system and will be corrected during the next delivery
scheduled for April 18. In the interest of transparency, I am attaching the complete list
of errors that will affect the XML data available in our open data services.
I would like to mention below the main differences that will be generated temporarily
(March 29 to April 18) between the XML data and the official forecasts on meteo.gc.ca, and
that could impact your applications:
· The citypage_weather XML will display forecasts that are one hour different from
the meteo.gc.ca forecasts
· In the French version of the citypage_weather XML HEF, the traffic alerts
(usually issued for snowfall or low visibility in fog) will not be mentioned for the
Yellowhead Pass near Jasper (s0000867_e), and for the Malahat Highway on Vancouver Island
(s0000868_e). The English version of the corresponding citypage is not affected by this
problem and will contain alerts potentially issued during this period.
· The citypage_weather XML for Alberta, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Nunavut and
Quebec will be distributed at Eastern Standard Time instead of Daylight Saving Time.
· A language change problem may occur from time to time in the display of alerts.
For example, in an English file, the addition of a warning may be distributed in French
and revert to English when another warning is issued or when the warning is over.
We sincerely apologize for the short notice and for the impact that these errors may have
on your applications. We invite you to consult the meteo.gc.ca website during this period
as the forecasts that will be posted will not contain any of these errors contained in the
corresponding XML files available in our open data services.
Best regards.
Sandrine
